Why it matters

The power of attorney is what saves you the trip

Every act before a Greek or Cypriot authority requires either your presence or a power of attorney. With one in place, your lawyer acts for you before municipalities, registries, tax offices, notaries and courts.
The wording matters. If the powers granted do not cover the act that has to be done, the authority or the notary will not accept it and the case is delayed. That is why the text is written around your case, not taken from a standard form.

TIME & COST

A written estimate before we start

The text is prepared quickly. The time depends mainly on when you can get an appointment with a notary or the consulate, and on the postal delivery of the original.
After the free review you receive a written fee estimate. Notary costs, the apostille and consular fees are paid by you directly and are listed separately.

QUESTIONS

About powers of attorney

Notary or consulate?
Both are accepted. A notary is usually faster and easier to arrange, but an apostille is then required. At a Greek or Cypriot consulate no apostille is needed, although an appointment is usually necessary.
It is required when the power of attorney is signed before a notary abroad. When it is signed at a Greek or Cypriot consulate, it is not.

Until the matter for which it was given is completed, or until you revoke it. A fixed duration can also be written into the text.

Yes, at any time, through a deed of revocation. We draft it and make sure it is notified wherever needed.

Yes. The original with the apostille is posted to our office. Your passport does not need to be posted; a scanned copy is enough.
