The record is the proof of your right

Greek citizenship passes by descent from parent to child. What the authorities need is proof of that line: official records that connect you, step by step, to your Greek or Cypriot ancestor.

Archival research finds those records. Once the line is documented, you and your children can
be registered as citizens, with the rights of European Union citizenship that come with it.

Passports, naturalization or immigration papers
Baptism or church certificates, and old Greek documents kept by the family

The time and the cost depend on how much is already known and on which archives hold the records.

After the free review you receive a written fee estimate and a realistic
time frame. Fees for official certificates and translations are listed

QUESTIONS

About archival research

What if the records were destroyed or are missing?

Records lost in one archive often survive in another, since municipal rolls, male registers, church books and state archives overlap. Where no direct record survives, we examine the alternative evidence and the procedures available under Greek law

Can you find the village if my family never knew it?

In most cases, yes. Naturalization papers, passenger lists, death certificates and church records in the country where your ancestor lived often name the place of origin.

Do I receive the documents you find?

Yes. You receive official copies of every record we obtain, together with a summary of what each record proves.

Is the research useful if I am not applying yet?

Yes. The records remain valid and can be used later for citizenship, inheritance or the correction of names.

Do you research in Cyprus as well?

Yes. We research records in both Greece and Cyprus.
